Thankful for...

....you! This week at the Sisters in Stamping (http://sistersinstamping.blogspot.com) we are making Thanksgiving cards you let you know how thankful we are for you! Here is my card for this week--

I used a fun technique this week called "Rock & Roll." Whenever I see leaves changing in the Fall I think of this technique. You ink the stamp up with one color and then "roll" the edges in a complimentary color. Here are the ink colors so you can recreate this card--The smaller Ash tree leaf was inked in Old Olive and then rolled in Soft Suede, the Oak tree leaf was inked in More Mustard and rolled in Cajun Craze. Of course all paper and ink supplies used are Stampin' Up!

Thank-you for coming back week after week to see what I'm up to!

Pressing Cookies for Friday

I did some baking for Fabulous Friday last night, and I was quite im"press"ed (-- haha, get it?) with the brand new cookie stamps! Here are my cookies cooling--

I used the Sugared Shortbread recipe that came with the Cookie Press, you can't see by the picture but you roll the balls of dough in sugar before you press them so they have a sparkle to them. I pulled the cookies out of the oven about 1/2 way through the baking and trimmed the edges off with a round biscuit cutter so they would have that traditional shortbread look to them. Best of all they taste fantastic, I had one this morning with my coffee! Here is a picture of the final project--

To package the cookies I used a flat cellophane bag and a felt snowflake from the Winter Wishes Stitched Felt collection (Holiday Mini Catalog, pg.30). The stitching on the snow flake is in Marina Mist thread, so the paper and ribbon coordinate beautifully. One last little detail, the bitty button for the center, quick and easy!

Halloween Cards for Friday

The Sisters are making Halloween Cards this week! Here is my card--

Cute color combination Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzaz and a new InColor Wisteria Wonder. I used a new Hostess set from the Holiday Mini catalog called Warmest Wishes and a new jumbo wheel, Halloween Hang-Ups. I finally ordered a new product called Dazzling Details (think Dazzling Diamonds glitter mixed with a clear glue). Here are a few pictures of the card close-up so you can see how sparkly it is!

Just love that little owl! I made the mask bigger and dressed it up with a little glitter. The Hostess program has changed at Stampin' Up! Please feel free to contact me for more details or a copy of the Holiday Mini catalog for your own.

Just a reminder-- we are still looking for comments over at the Sisters in Stamping blog (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com). All comments will be placed in a drawing for some free blog candy. So get on over and comment away!

Thank-you for stopping today!

Fabric for Fabulous Friday

Welcome! The Sisters  (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com) have all made projects with fabric this week. Here is my card and gift--
I used the fabric from the Holiday Mini catalog called Spice Cake (pg.18, #124066...it has coordinating Designer Series Paper called Spice cake too) and a new set in the catalog called Occasions Alphabet (pg. 171, #117090). Each letter has a small saying that goes with it, it is very sweet. I colored the stamp with Soft Suede and More Mustard markers, using the colors that are in the fabric. That's it as far as stamping, it was very simple.

Thank-you for stopping by, and remember we are still looking for comments on the Sisters in Stamping blog. If you go by make sure you leave a comment so you can get your name into the drawing for the FREE blog candy.

Happy Stamping, Karla c(:

PS. Ooops! I forgot to mention this layout and card was inspired by a card from one of my SO talented SU! Downline Karen Clark, she used the fabric Deck the Halls to make a Christmas card--very pretty!

New Bigshot dies from the Mini catalog!

Hello and thanks for stopping this week! The Sisters (http://sistersinstamping.blogspot.com) are featuring some of the new BigShot dies from the Holiday Mini catalog this week. Here is my card--

I used the new die called Stocking Accents (pg.24, #124099) It is a BigzL die so it will cut thru fabric and felt (plus others things!) Besides the candy cane and the holly accents there is an ornament, a Christmas tree and a Christmas light bulb on the die. I know it's a little early to be thinking about Christmas...just to even it out I'm posting a picture of my cat Rudy sitting in the warm Summer sun coming thru my kitchen window. Isn't he the cutest??

Thanks again for stopping by here at Stampin' with "K", have a great Labor Day week-end!

Happy Stamping, Karla c(:
