Holiday Decor for Fabulous Friday

This week at the Sisters in Stamping (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com) Jacque has picked Holiday Decor to spotlight. Here is my project--

I found some porcelain ornaments on line and took a chance that the heart from the stamp set You Are Loved (Holiday Mini catalog, pg. 40) would fit. Success, it fits perfectly!!  I stamped on the ornament with Versamark and sprinkled gold embossing powder over the dove (on the left) and then used the new pewter embossing powder (Holiday Mini, pg.31) on the remainder of the heart design. I love hearts and I love to give ornaments for Christmas presents, so I'm making a bunch of these this year.

The Sisters in Stamping are taking next week off to celebrate Christmas with their families. Have a great day and see you back here the next week.

Happy Stamping! Karla c(:

Fabulous Friday Gift Card Holder

Well, here we are it's Friday again.... and it's December no less! Where does all of the time go? The Sisters are showcasing Gift Card Holders this week on Sisters in Stamping (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com). We have noticed that gift cards get more and more popular every year for Christmas gifts, here is my holder--

The stamp set is called Festive & Fun, it is in the 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog. Only a couple more weeks to purchase products from this catalog. Anyway, the gift card holder is actually a A2 envelope that's folded in 1/2. You cut one side of the flap off and stick the other side down to form a pocket for the gift card. Clever, eh? I can not take credit for this idea...it has been around for quite awhile. Here is a picture of it open--

Once again thank-you for stopping by and checking out what I have going here every Friday. Make sure you stop at the Sisters blog to see the other gift card holders.

Happy Stamping Friday!

Fabulous Friday Thank-you's

It is my week for picking a theme over at the Sisters in Stamping (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com) and I chose Christmas Thank-you Cards. I like to have them on hand so that they can get written right away. Here is my card--

The original idea came from my Downline Lori Verdon. She did a technique card using the clear acrylic blocks for the un-mounted stamps at a Meeting a couple of months ago. I took the same layout and used a different stamp set and colors. I used block "D" to print the square in Bashful Blue and then stamped the snowflakes in Marina Mist over the top, a little glitter and some rhinestones and your done! I recently started attending a card ministry at my church and I brought this card for everyone to make last week. It turned out nice and sparkly--but, best of all FAST & EASY! Thank-you Lori for the great idea!!

Thank-you for stopping by!

Altered Friday Christmas Giving

It's Debbie Naylor's week at the Sisters in Stamping (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com) and she has picked gifts to give-- regular things that have been altered in some way, here is my project--

It is a giant clothes pin! I stamped the snowman on shimmery white cardstock, the technique for him is called Out of the Box. I altered the pin with some Designer Series Paper called Just Add Cake.

Here it is clipped together. I made a couple extra to give away this Christmas for the Grandmas. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Christmas Tags to Share

Welcome! The Sisters in Stamping (http://sistersinstamping.blogspot.com) are creating gift tags to help you for the Holiday Season!
Here is my project for this week--

I used one of the plastic stamp boxes. It holds 9 tags, 3 of each design. The stamp set I used to make the tags is called Christmas Lodge (Holiday Mini Catalog, pg.29). There is Designer Series Paper that matches the stamp set and I used some of it to decorate the box.
Here is a picture of it open--

I took close up pictures of each of the tags--

I know I always say thank-you for coming by--but I really mean it! Words can not tell you how happy I am when I see the little counter tick away with new visitors every week. Next week the Sisters are putting together some gift ideas, hope you can make it back!

Happy Stamping,

Thanksgiving Turkey Favor

Welcome to another Fabulous Friday! We are all putting together some Thanksgiving Decor together for you this week at the Sisters in Stamping blog (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com). Here is my little Turkey place setting favor--

My family and I have been invited to spend Thanksgiving at a friends house, I'll be making these to set at each of the place settings. I used some Spice Cake Designer Series Paper (Holiday Mini catalog) to make a pouch. I've filled it with chocolate and candy corn and used some punch art to decorate it.

Thank-you for coming by my blog today! Make sure you check out the Sisters in Stamping blog for some other great Holiday Decorating ideas.

Felt for Fabulous Friday

The Sisters in Stamping (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com) are posting Christmas projects for Fabulous Friday....I made a stocking ornament for my Christmas tree--

I used the Holiday Stocking die (item #124098) and the Stocking Accents (item#124099) die from the Holiday Mini Catalog (pg.24). I ran 2 pieces of oatmeal colored felt through the BigShot using the Holiday Stocking die. For the holly I used the iron on adhesive and then did a blanket stitch around the edge. Before I sewed it shut I stuffed it, sewed the ribbon on and made it a hanger with gold cord. It was pretty simple, I think it turned out really cute!

Happy Stamping!

Fabulous Frankie Friday

Thank-you for coming back this week, the Sisters in Stamping (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com) have some Halloween Candy Treats to show you! Here is mine--

His name is Frankie! I told my husband he was the perfect man-- his mouth is sewn shut! I traded this cute candy treat at my Heartisan Downline Meeting a couple of weeks ago. I had a 6x6 page that I traded with him, his punch key. Here is a picture of it--

I used the Pounce Technique on the Scary & Sweet, I inked the stamp in black and stamped it 6-7 times in the same spot to make it look really spooky. I used the Texture jumbo wheel on the top in Always Artichoke ink. The card stock is stapled on top of the small cello bag filled with candy (the staple is under Frankie's head) and then I used dimensionals to pop the punch art up so that it covered the staple.

Next week we are going to feature some Christmas-y stuff, hope you can stop back by and check us out!

Happy Stamping!

Thankful for...

....you! This week at the Sisters in Stamping (http://sistersinstamping.blogspot.com) we are making Thanksgiving cards you let you know how thankful we are for you! Here is my card for this week--

I used a fun technique this week called "Rock & Roll." Whenever I see leaves changing in the Fall I think of this technique. You ink the stamp up with one color and then "roll" the edges in a complimentary color. Here are the ink colors so you can recreate this card--The smaller Ash tree leaf was inked in Old Olive and then rolled in Soft Suede, the Oak tree leaf was inked in More Mustard and rolled in Cajun Craze. Of course all paper and ink supplies used are Stampin' Up!

Thank-you for coming back week after week to see what I'm up to!

Happy Stamping-- Karla c(:

Pressing Cookies for Friday

I did some baking for Fabulous Friday last night, and I was quite im"press"ed (-- haha, get it?) with the brand new cookie stamps! Here are my cookies cooling--

I used the Sugared Shortbread recipe that came with the Cookie Press, you can't see by the picture but you roll the balls of dough in sugar before you press them so they have a sparkle to them. I pulled the cookies out of the oven about 1/2 way through the baking and trimmed the edges off with a round biscuit cutter so they would have that traditional shortbread look to them. Best of all they taste fantastic, I had one this morning with my coffee! Here is a picture of the final project--

To package the cookies I used a flat cellophane bag and a felt snowflake from the Winter Wishes Stitched Felt collection (Holiday Mini Catalog, pg.30). The stitching on the snow flake is in Marina Mist thread, so the paper and ribbon coordinate beautifully. One last little detail, the bitty button for the center, quick and easy!

Halloween Cards for Friday

The Sisters are making Halloween Cards this week! Here is my card--

Cute color combination Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzaz and a new InColor Wisteria Wonder. I used a new Hostess set from the Holiday Mini catalog called Warmest Wishes and a new jumbo wheel, Halloween Hang-Ups. I finally ordered a new product called Dazzling Details (think Dazzling Diamonds glitter mixed with a clear glue). Here are a few pictures of the card close-up so you can see how sparkly it is!

Just love that little owl! I made the mask bigger and dressed it up with a little glitter. The Hostess program has changed at Stampin' Up! Please feel free to contact me for more details or a copy of the Holiday Mini catalog for your own.

Just a reminder-- we are still looking for comments over at the Sisters in Stamping blog (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com). All comments will be placed in a drawing for some free blog candy. So get on over and comment away!

Fabric for Fabulous Friday

Welcome! The Sisters  (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com) have all made projects with fabric this week. Here is my card and gift--
I used the fabric from the Holiday Mini catalog called Spice Cake (pg.18, #124066...it has coordinating Designer Series Paper called Spice cake too) and a new set in the catalog called Occasions Alphabet (pg. 171, #117090). Each letter has a small saying that goes with it, it is very sweet. I colored the stamp with Soft Suede and More Mustard markers, using the colors that are in the fabric. That's it as far as stamping, it was very simple.

Thank-you for stopping by, and remember we are still looking for comments on the Sisters in Stamping blog. If you go by make sure you leave a comment so you can get your name into the drawing for the FREE blog candy.

Happy Stamping, Karla c(:

PS. Ooops! I forgot to mention this layout and card was inspired by a card from one of my SO talented SU! Downline Karen Clark, she used the fabric Deck the Halls to make a Christmas card--very pretty!

New Bigshot dies from the Mini catalog!

Hello and thanks for stopping this week! The Sisters (http://sistersinstamping.blogspot.com) are featuring some of the new BigShot dies from the Holiday Mini catalog this week. Here is my card--

I used the new die called Stocking Accents (pg.24, #124099) It is a BigzL die so it will cut thru fabric and felt (plus others things!) Besides the candy cane and the holly accents there is an ornament, a Christmas tree and a Christmas light bulb on the die. I know it's a little early to be thinking about Christmas...just to even it out I'm posting a picture of my cat Rudy sitting in the warm Summer sun coming thru my kitchen window. Isn't he the cutest??

Thanks again for stopping by here at Stampin' with "K", have a great Labor Day week-end!

Happy Stamping, Karla c(:

Holiday Mini Sneak Peek

The Sisters (http://Sistersinstamping.blogspot.com) a giving a small Sneak Peek this week at the NEW Holiday Mini catalog...I say small because there are SO MANY wonderful stamp sets in it the Peek has to be small, there is just no way we could feature all of them. But, not to fear we will be featuring quite a few sets in the next couple of weeks so make sure you stop back by. Here is my card for this week--

It seems too early to be making Fall themed cards doesn't it?? This stamp set is called Gently Falling and it's comprised of 2 sets of images, the outside of the leaf and the inside, I only used the outside of the leaf to make this card. It is quite lovely...there is a Maple leaf and a little whirligig to go with it, an Oak leaf with an acorn, a Ash leaf and a Elm leaf (these last two I'm not sure about, I was never good at that kinda thing). I used 2 techniques to make this card Paper Piecing (on the little acorn) and Burnishing. Also, I used the new quilted ribbon from the Holiday Mini-- I love it, I hope it gets carried through to the next catalog!

Happy Stamping!

Back to School Friday

This Back to School post for Sisters in Stamping Fabulous Friday today (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com) is very appropriate for South Dakota. My son went back to school yesterday (WHOOPEE!!). Here is my project for today--

We did this project at a Birthday Party on Tuesday (Happy 8th Birthday Hannah!) Original idea came from my good friend and downline Jen Sannes (http://www.SimpleandSincere.com). Here is a picture of the "Little Man" sitting pretty much where he sat most of the Summer-- in front of the computer!

Thankfully, he did get to the pool down the street some so he has a nice tan for his school picture today.

Make sure you come back next week, we will be giving you a little Sneak Peek of the 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog-- it is a sweet catalog!

Good-bye Friday

We are still lamenting over our favorite retiring stamp sets at the Sisters in Stamping (http://sistersinstamping.blogspot.com/). Here is my card for this week--

I used the retiring Eastern Blooms to make this kimono fold. It was one of our Make & Takes at the last Heartisan Downline Meeting. We made these cards to donate to a fund raiser for the victims of the tsunami in Japan.

Next week we will be making cards with brand spankin' new stamp sets! Lots of fun...the new catalog will be released July 1, always love this time of year!

Happy stamping,

PS. E-mail me if you are interested in joining my Group. We have a lot of fun!

Good-bye cute little bugs!

This week at Sisters in Stamping (http://sistersinstamping.blogspot.com/) we a using some of our retiring stamp sets. Here is my card--

We did this card at the Madison Mega Stamp-a-Stack in April. I will really miss this stamp set Bugs & Kisses #116580, it's so kid friendly! The technique is called Collage, you start with the largest image and fill in the holes with the smaller stamps, make sure you turn the stamp and stamp off of the paper--that makes it look random. Simple and fun!

We are sharing more of our favorite retiring sets next week. Make sure you check back!

Happy Stamping,

Fabulous Fathers Day card

Welcome to the Fabulous Friday Fathers Day post. Here is my card--

This was one of my cards from my last Stamp-a-Stack. It is a CASE of a card from Kristi Forsythe. I did change a few things (used Night of navy for the darkest color, did'nt use the Vanilla Smooch Spritz--I needed a more masculine card). Thank-you Kristi, very very cute card!!

Next week we are spotlighting retiring stamp sets..make sure to check back in! Thank-you for stopping by!

Scrapbook pages for Friday

Blogger was down this morning and we were unable to post the Fabulous Friday until later, sorry for the inconvenience.

Welcome to my blog, thank-you for stopping by! This week at the Sisters in Stamping (http://sistersinstamping.blogspot.com/) we are doing a little scrapbooking in honor of National Scrapbooking Month. Here is my 12x12 page--

My intention is to put pictures from our recent bathroom remodel(s) on the page. I used the stamp set called Totally Tool and the background set called Woodgrain. I stamped the tools on cardstock, cut them out and used dimensionals to pop them off of the page.

Stop by next week to see the new triple layer punch in action.

Happy Stamping! Karla c(:

Summer Mini Catalog!

I love this time of year, Spring and the Summer Mini catalog are finally here! We are showcasing the Mini this week over at the Sisters (http://sistersinstamping.blogspot.com/), here is my card--

Recently participated in a long distant Swap with my group and this was one of my cards. I used the BigShot to make the ovals from watercolor paper and then stamped with black Stazon ink. Colored the image with Classic ink pads. If you look really close you can see the background stamp I used called Pretty Pattern, it's hard to see because I used the same color ink as the paper...I didn't want it to distract you, but I still wanted a little something going on there. I call it "background noise." The ribbon was kinda tricky and took me waaaaaay longer than I thought it would. I placed sticky strip on the back side of the oval and then ruffled the Pear Pizzaz seam binding around the out side. Over the knot of the bow I used a mini glue dot, a Paper Daisy and a pearl jewel that I colored yellow (so that it looks like the flowers in the vase).

Hope you can join us next week, we are doing some scrapbooking!

Happy Stamping, Karla c(:
