DSP Strips Sunday

Big Hello to you on this pretty Fall day! This week's theme on the Sister's in Stamping blog is "Use up Those Scraps." Here is my card--

I've been trying to sort through my Designer Series Paper and I ran into a bag of strips that I cut a very long time ago for Christmas Ornaments (I think?). Anyway as soon as I saw them I thought about this weeks post!

Thank-you for coming by today and go check out the other projects!
Happy Stamping, Karla 😊

A Manly Card

It's Friday!! Seems like this year has just flown by at times and then gone so slow too-- how can that be?? Anyway, I'm sure your not here to talk about the time space continuum, here's my card--

I started out using masculine colors because that is the theme for this week, but now that I sit back and take a look at my card it's not really gender related, it's a Sympathy card. It could easily be changed by swapping out the sentiment. The set is called Snow Front (pg.58, #150483, $22.00) I have used this set before here

It has quite a few pieces for assembling nature scenes. One of my Sisters used a similar stamp set called Waterfront to make her card today. Make sure you go over to the Sisters site to check her card. Snow Front and Waterfront were both designed by the same artist.

Thank-you for coming out today!

Masculine Birthday

Welcome to this week's Fabulous Friday post! The Sisters in Stamping are looking at some Masculine cards this week. I love when this challenge is picked as a theme, here is my card for today--

Yesterday I went through the Annual Retired List and I picked a few of the things that are leaving with the introduction of the New Idea Book & Catalog on June 3rd. First the stamp set Country Road (151356, $19.00) I've had this set for awhile, it's a nice blend of images:

Next, I used the Pigment Sprinkles (#149663, on Sale for $16.10-- 30% off) to make my colored background.

I tied it up with Garden Green twine (Country Club Twine Combo Pack, #151318, $9.00) that matches the base of the card.

Lastly I picked one of the Retiring InColors Blueberry Bushel (cardstock, #146968, $8.75) as an accent.

Seaside Sailing

The theme for the Sisters in Stamping post this week is Seaside, here is my card--

I used the set called Sailing Home (#149457, $24.00) to make this masculine card. I'm on a masculine card roll! I knew I wanted to use the baker's twine (Night of Navy/Sahara Sand #149483, $4.00) is new to the catalog and that's where I started with my color combo.

Here is a close up of the twine, I really like the way this turned out-- looks great!

Thank-you for coming by today, see you next week for some embossing paste ideas.

Magically Delicious!

I'ts Debbie's week over at the Sisters in Stamping blog and her theme is Masculine projects. Here is my project for this week--

I'm sending this off to my son in college who has Finals in a couple months. It could also double as a St. Partick's Day party favor, if you left the "I believe in YOU!" stamp off. That's why I'm showing it to you now. 💚
I used a set from the Occasions Mini Catalog called Amazing Life (pg.28, #148750), You can get a 10% discount if you bundle the stamp set with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits (#150624). I colored the shamrock and the word luck in with the light Granny Smith Stampin' Blend. There is a piece of Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper in Lemon Lime Twist that coordinates perfectly! Lastly, I rimmed the white piece with the Momento Black ink pad so that it pops off of the topper that I stapled on to the gusseted cellophane bag filled with Lucky Charms. What a fun project!

Happy Stamping, Karla 😉

Manly Pink?

There have been some technical difficulties at the Sisters in Stamping, I think we have figured it out. We are doing Masculine cards this week, here is my card--

I used Watts of Occasions stamp set, it's another new one in the 2017-18 Idea Book & Catalog. I did some sponging on the light bulb to make it look lit up, and then a sponge dauber to color in the heart. I realize pink is not a masculine color but this card has a real guy feel to it.

Manly, I think so. What do you think of the pink?

Fun Techniques for Sisters in Stamping Today

Hey better late than never?? I hope you are having a great Labor Holiday weekend! I had a card to post for the Sisters in Stamping challenge, here is a picture of it--

The technique is called Triple Time Stamping....but I tweaked it a bit. I only used 2 layers instead of 3 with my balloons. You can read up on the technique here.

A Friday of Masculine Cards

It's my turn over at the Sisters in Stamping blog and I picked Masculine cards this week as our theme. Here is my Masculine card for this week--

I layered a panel of the same color stamped with the wheat on the fold and a circle under the goose to give it some interest.
The ribbon is a 2" piece of Chevron attached with a brad. This Stampin Up! set is called Wetlands, I love it! There are 3 images and 3 sayings in the set.

A Masculine Friday

Masculine cards....they are tricky! You don't want to be too frilly with ribbons and bows or flowers and such. Exactly why you should let the Sisters in Stamping help you out with some Guy cards today. Here is my card for today's Fabulous Friday post--

I used the stamp set called The Open Sea to make my manly Birthday card.

Here is a shot of the front of the card showing the new background stamp World Map.

I used the frosting part of the cupcake punch and sponge to create my clouds.

Here is a close up picture of the cloud design in the back ground, very whimsical addition to the card.

Thank-you again for stopping by, see you next week!

Masculine Cards from the Sisters

It's my week at the Sisters blog and I picked Manly cards for our theme. Here is my card for today--

I used the Tastefully Trim die for the BigShot to make my waves. I picked some Masculine colors for this weeks post so that it would fit with the  Sisters in Stamping theme but, really you could use any colors. I think the brads add a Masculine quality to the card too.

Thank-you for stopping by and don't forget that the end of the 2012-13 Idea Book & Catalog year is June 2.

Happy Stamping!
