Going to make it pretty short this week--we are in the process of packing and the POD showed up this morning. So not ready for it YET!!! We are using retiring stamp sets this week at Sisters in Stamping, here is my card--

Retiring Accessories!

Hey it's Friday and the Sisters (http://sistersinstamping.blogspot.com/) are focusing on some of the retiring accessories. Here's my card--


I used the Pretties Kit again this week...I guess it's because I'm so sad to see it go. Be prepared, you might see it next week too!!! Last week I pulled all of the retiring ribbon so I could focus on it at Workshops and Clubs in the next couple of weeks and I was shocked on how many colors are leaving!! BOOHOO. So I've tried to make the best of it and use it for a technique I have been wanting to try for a long time. I received a trade card from one of my awesome Downline, Stacey Campbell, and have wanted to weave some ribbon ever since. Thank-you for the great trade Stacey!

Stamp sets: Stem Sayings (retiring June 30, 2010). Accessories: Pretties Kit, Striped grosgrain ribbon, mini glue dots, Basic Black marker. Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue.

June Friday Brides

Well, hello and welcome to another Fabulous Friday! The weeks are just flying by and over at the Sisters in Stamping (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com) we are showcasing Bridal projects and cards. Here is my project--


It's a gift card holder, here is a picture of the inside--


You take a 1/2 sheet of card stock, cut the long way (4 1/4 x 11) and score it 3" from both ends and then fold it in 1/2...it looks like a "w." Here is a picture of it from the top--

I ran a piece of scrap white card stock though the BigShot using the Tulipe die. Embellished it using the Pretties Kit and some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.
SU! Supplies used--
Accessories: Pretties Kit, BigShot, Tulipe die, sticky strip, mini glue dots, tombow adhesive, Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz, 1" circle punch, Modern window punch. Paper: Very Vanilla, Whisper White.
Both the Tulipe die and the Pretties Kit are retiring at the end of June--boo hooo! I will miss them both. Happy Stamping-- Karla c(:

Fabulous Masculine Friday

It's another Friday and the Sisters http://sistersinstamping.blogspot.com are your go-to girls for manly cards this week! Here is my card--

I have been wanting to try this technique for a looooonnnng time....it's called Bargello and it's super easy to do and not just for needle arts. I used the new Designer Series Paper from the Summer Mini called Travel Journal (pg.23, Summer Mini catalog) but you can use any paper that has stripes. A technique article in the last Stampin' Success (a monthly Magazine for Demonstrators) featured it, just one of the many perks of being a SU! Demonstrator. I cut the paper in 1/2" strips off of each side to make the wave and then matched up the stripe when I adhered it to the card stock. Looks kinda like a tie don't cha think??? This stamp set Very Thankful is the Ronald McDonald set for the 2009-10 IB&C and will be retiring at the end of the month. 2009-10 Idea Book & Catalog Retiring Stamp List

Yesterday the 2009-10 Retiring Stamp set list came out...it's always a sad day to see these sets go. I have to keep reminding myself that Stampin' Up! always replaces them with new really cute ones. Here is a link to the listing so you can check it out:
