Just what the Dr. Ordered...

...the prescription says "have a Happy Valentine's Day!"

The Sisters in Stamping (http://Sistersinstamping.blogspot.com) are making Valentine candy favors this week for Fabulous Friday. I purchased empty pill bottles a couple of years ago and this idea came to me when I bought Conversation Hearts at the store yesterday. I used the new heart Framelits (pg.6) and the stamp set from the Occasions Mini Take it to Heart (pg.14) they coordinate beautifully together! I hope you like it! Leave me a Comment if you'd like to buy some pill bottles of your own.

Thanks for cruising by today...make sure you go to the Sisters blog to see what the others have done.

Framelit Friday!

Good day and welcome to this week's Fabulous Friday post! The Sisters (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com) are focusing on the NEW Framelits that are in the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog. Here is my card--

It's all closed up in the picture above. Here is a picture of it opened to the first message--

And, below it's all the way open--

I have had this idea in my head for a long time, and just needed to take the time to sit down and put it together. Sometimes when they are in your head they look really great when they get out...sometimes not so much! I was lucky this time I think it turned out really cute. It's a moving card called a Telescoping Card. I have seen them made with circles on other sites but never with hearts.

Thank-you for stopping by again today, Happy Friday!

Sale-A-Bration 2012

Good to see you here again! Sale-A-Bration is Event of the year at Stampin' Up! It's one of my favorites because it comes at a dreary time of the year and getting free stamps always lifts my spirits. The Sisters (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com) are giving you a little sneak peek this week, here is my card--

The little square postage stamp comes in the set called Fresh Vintage. I inked it up in Peach Parfait and the took a sponge dauber inked in Poppy Parade and colored the flower and the opposite corner of the faux postage stamp. I repeated this 4 times and then used the Postage Stamp punch to make the postage stamp. When I attached the 4 faux postage stamps to the Soft Suede card stock I put them together so it looks more like a real set of stamps.
If you'd like to see the whole 2012 Sale-A-Bration Collection make a comment and I will get a catalog off to you. The annual Sale is from Jan.24- Mar.31.
    Thank-you for stopping by today!

Favorites from the NEW Occasions Mini

Two posts in one week, WOW I'm really on a roll! This is my week over at the Sisters in Stamping (http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com) and I picked showcasing our favorite stamp sets from the NEW Occasions Mini Catalog. Which, by the way is just beautiful! Here is my card for this week--

I used a fun technique called Marker over Pencil. I used watercolor pencils to color the image and then blend them, go over the top with the brush tip of a coordinating marker to add some shading.

Well, that's it for me this week but there are other projects on the Sisters blog....go check it out!

Punch Storage

A few years back I read about how another stamper organized her punches, it was years ago (maybe 12??) anyway, I took the idea and made it my own. Here are some photos of my set up--

It is PVC gutter that I purchased at a big box home improvement store. The gutter comes in 10' lengths, my first run of gutter I had the yard cut it in 1/2 so I could fit it into my car. You need 2 end caps and 2 hangers for each run if you want to do it this way. If you leave it at 10' long you'll need 2 end caps and 4 hangers, the end caps and the hangers are there in the aisle with the gutter.

I use the punch to make a "key" using black card stock, and attach it with mini glue dots. If the punch is not filed away where it's slot is I know it's out with another project.

You can see that the gutter holds old style and new. I write on the side of the punch with a zig painty pen, and I mark the punched circle key with the size (ie., 2 1/2" circle). This has saved me many hours of hunting for the wrong size punch!

The other end of the gutter holds ribbon. I used sticky strip to hold the ribbon samples to the gutter. When the new catalog comes out I can easily peel the sticky strip off of the gutter and replace the retired with the new. In the past I have even written on the gutter with a Sharpie marker. I used Stazon stamp cleaner to wipe it off. I tied a pair of scissors to some twine and a hook and leave them there.

Right now my stamp room is in an unfinished basement so my husband used some construction adhesive to mount 4- 1x1 pieces of wood to screw the hangers into, the gutters just clip into the hangers. SWEET! So there you have it...I like to organize things.

Thank-you for stopping by today!
