Simply Scrappin' Green Fab Friday

Hello, and welcome to another Fabulous Friday! This is my project for this week, we were to use a Simply Scrappin' Kit for this edition...

My husband and I have been remodeling our basement, this is one of the casement windows that was destined for the garbage dump. I attached the Designer Paper from the Petal Party Kit on the back side of the window with sticky strip, if you get tired of the design it's easily changed out for new paper. The piece of cork is on the front side of the glass and the border design across the bottom and the 2 flowers on the sides of "MEMO"are self-adhesive die cuts come from the Kit too. Lastly the chalk marker tucks perfectly into the latch in the front of the old window. For the Downline Christmas Party we have a potluck, shoebox trade and a hand stamped gift exchange. Shhhh, don't tell my Downline--this is my hand-stamped gift for the exchange! I always enjoy the gift exchange the most, it is so much fun to see all of the clever ideas that everyone comes up with.

October Stamp-A-Whole-Lotta Cards

October was Christmas card month, here are the 5 cards we did at that SWLC Class. Card one:

This card was CASED from a newsletter of another Demonstrator....is it your card? If so, e-mail me and I will post your name with this lovely card. This was one of the favorites!

SU! Supplies used--
Stamp sets: Sweet Centers (pg.7, Holiday Mini Catalog), Four the Holidays (pg.19, Holiday Mini Catalog). Accessories: white satin ribbon, dimensionals, silver embossing powder, glue dots. Paper: Christmas Cocoa Specialty, Whisper White, Real Red. Ink: Versamark.

Card two:
This card is so simple and sweet. It has a country Christmas feel to it.

SU! Supplies--
Stamp sets: Grateful Greetings (pg.8, Holiday Mini Catalog). Accessories: 1/4" red grosgrain ribbon, tag punch, small tag punch, crop-a-dile, 2 way glue pen, dazzling diamonds glitter. Paper: Christmas Cocoa Specialty, Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White. Ink: Chocolate Chip.

Card three:
This was the other favorite--talk about simple! This card would be very easy to make multiples. One quick tip, you ink up the trees with Ballet Blue and take the ink off the bird with a q-tip. Then use a Real Red marker to color the bird back in, huff the stamp to moisten. Also, we used a Stamp-a-ma-Jig to place the trees.

SU! Supplies used--
Stamp sets: Scenic Season. Accessories: wide Real Red grosgrain ribbon, Real Red marker, dimensionals, slot punch, Stamp-a-ma-jig. Paper: Ballet Blue, Certainly Celery, Whisper White. Ink: Real Red, Ballet Blue.

Card four: I received a card at Convention from Betty Travis using this stamp and color combination. I simplified a bit so that it was easier to mass produce.

SU! Supplies used--

Stamp sets: Dasher (pg.208, IB&C), Simple Snowflake (pg.208, 2009-2010 IB&C), Warm Words (pg.141, 2009-2010 IB&C). Accessories: silver brads, dimensionals, Razzleberry polka-dot ribbon, Modern label punch, stamping sponges. Ink: Razzleberry.

Card five: This is a layout copy of a card on pg.82 in the 2009-10 IB&C. I used the one of the hostess sets from Holiday Mini Catalog called Snow Buddies--love the way you can dress the snowmen up.

SU! Supplies used--
Stamp Sets: Snow Buddies (pg.5, Holiday Mini Catalog), On Your Birthday (pg.139, 2009-2010 IB&C). Accessories: clear brads, wide celery grosgrain ribbon, 2way glue pen, dazzling diamond glitter, Jumbo Snowflake punch, Pumpkin Pie, Going Grey, Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue markers. Paper: Basic Grey, Whisper White, Bashful Blue. Ink: Basic Grey
Next month's dates are December 10, 11 & 12. We will be making Winter Themed Thank-you Cards which is always a popular class. You can see the rest of my Holiday Class Schedule by clicking on the calendar in the left hand column.

Tree Trimming Fab Friday

Happy Friday the 13th! This week over at Sisters we are focusing on the Tree Trimmings stamp set. We all received this stamp set at Convention (in our Make & Take packet). Here is the card that I came up with:

Just a couple of things about this card. I stamped the large ornament in a circle, and then used the paper snips to trim out the top layer of the flower. I took the rhinestones out of the metal brad part and attached them to the card stock with mini glue dots. I wanted to get the "C" in Christmas tucked right in there in between the petals, so I needed to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to place it-- upside down!! You see I'd already attached all of the petals and I couldn't get the jig in over Poinsettia, so I had to do it upside down. Worked great!!

SU! Supplies used-

Stamp sets: Tree Trimmings (pg. 28, IB&C 2009-2010), Grateful Greetings (pg.8, Holiday Mini catalog). Accessories: Fire Circle Rhinestones, paper snips, Stamp-a-ma-jig, paper-piercing tool, mat pack, jumbo & mini glue dots. Paper: Ruby Red, Garden Green, Very Vanilla. Ink: Ruby Red classic, Garden Green classic, Chocolate Chip classic.

Until next time! Karla c(:

Shimmer!!

My friend (and fellow Sistah) Debbie Naylor (http://www.unfrogettablestamping.typepad.com/) taught a technique class a couple of months ago using the new shimmer paint. Here is the card I CASED from her:

Cleaning up after the Club Meeting I was looking at the left over stencils that were used, I was about to throw them away and I started thinkin'.... I can use that--maybe the reverse??? What do you think....

I made this card for my Downline Meeting trade, using the same technique. Recipe for the shimmer spray is a little different with the snowflake.

Soft Suede Shimmer spray (recipe from Debbie)

1 oz. rubbing alcohol

1/2 tsp. Champagne Shimmer paint

15 drops of Soft Suede reinker

Shake all ingredients in a small bottle with spray mist nozzle (I used a old Stampin' Mist bottle).

Snowflake Shimmer Spray

1 oz. rubbing alcohol

1/2 tsp. Frost White Shimmer paint

15 drops Not Quite Navy reinker

Shake all ingredients in a small bottle with spray mist nozzle (I used a old Stampin' Mist bottle).

SU! Supplies used--

Stamp sets: Together Forever (pg.49, IB&C 2009-2010), Scenic Season (pg.35, IB&C 2009-2010). Accessories: Frost White and Champagne shimmer paint, Big Shot, Tulipe die, Snowflake #2 die, 2-way glue pen, dazzling diamonds, large oval punch, scallop oval punch. Paper: Whisper white, very vanilla, soft suede, Not Quite Navy. Ink: Soft Suede, Not Quite Navy.
