Thank-you, Thank-you

The Sisters in Stamping are saying "Thank-you" this week for Fabulous Friday-- here is my card.

I used a set called An Open Heart-- I don't know the first time I saw that set I thought of Mistletoe and I couldn't shake that until I put it down on paper. Just one of those things.

Thank-you for comin' by!!
Happy Stampin'

A Little Gift

Hey!! Hopefully you have noticed that I was gone for a couple of weeks...you know it's just that time of year! I know you know what I'm talking about. Here is my project today for the Sisters in Stamping blog --

A couple of years ago a friend of mine gave me a candle like this one, I remade it with the DSP stack from the Holiday Mini Catalog called Trim the Tree and tied it up with the Cherry Cobbler 1" Sheer Linen Ribbon-- also from same catalog.

Here is a picture of it lit, there is a tea light in the bottom that is replaceable.

Thank-you for coming by today!

Showcasing Ornaments

I used Versamark and stamped them with the large star from the stamp set Bright & Beautiful. Sprinkled silver embossing powder over top and used a small dry paint brush to remove the powdered that stuck to ornament. After it cooled I attached the rhinestone. I found the porcelain ornaments here: online. But the last time I was at big box store ("M"s) they had them in the Christmas Decor section.

A Friday of Masculine Cards

It's my turn over at the Sisters in Stamping blog and I picked Masculine cards this week as our theme. Here is my Masculine card for this week--

I layered a panel of the same color stamped with the wheat on the fold and a circle under the goose to give it some interest.
The ribbon is a 2" piece of Chevron attached with a brad. This Stampin Up! set is called Wetlands, I love it! There are 3 images and 3 sayings in the set.

My Favorite from The 2014 Holiday Mini

Fun Back to School Project

Hey! It's back to School time at my house and I found this really cute project to make at my last Find A Friend Class (see below for a link to the original post). We had such a great time making these Jumbo Pencils!

Here is the fun part-- when you pull on the ribbon with the tag a chocolate bar pops up from inside the pencil!
Here is a link to Heather's post. I had to tweak my pencil a bit because my candy bar was bigger than hers, but I still think it turned out super cute. Here are the dimensions for cutting your card stock:
Daffodil Delight- 6 1/2 x 5 1/2
Blush Blossom- 2 x 6 3/4
Silver Foil- 1/2 x 7

Thank-you for stopping by today! Have a Fabulous Friday... Karla c(:

Fabulous Friday, once Again!

Well hey and welcome! I've had such a hard time deciding today on what to do for Debbie's 3D item for Fabulous Friday Sisters in Stamping post! I finally made a decision, here it is--

I saw a pin last year and I saved it on my Paper Crafting Pinterest Board, which I was cruising through for idea's for today's post. Bad thing-- this blog doesn't exists anymore, what's a crafty girl to do!? Well I took the picture and I winged it, here is a link to what I'm talking about. It turned out really nice, the little cone is made with the Top Note Bigz die with the new Moonlight Designer Paper Stack. To tie off my chocolate nuggets I used the new InColor Lost Lagoon 3/8" Stitched Satin ribbon.

Happy Stamping!

Happy Father's Day

Well hey! This week we are making Father's Day cards to share with you for the Fabulous Friday post. Here is my card for this week--

This moose is from the stamp set called Walk in the Wild. I used it with one of the NEW InColors called Mossy Meadow and one of the InColors that carried over called Baked Brown Sugar. I used a oval framelit for a twist on a technique called Spotlighting. Here is how it was done so you can recreate it for yourself: I stamped the moose in a waterproof black ink, took the card stock to the BigShot and cut an oval out of that layer with a framelit (if you look close at the picture you can see the small impression of the framelit, I like that it left a mark-- it makes it look like a frame within a frame, nice). I took the oval with the moose and colored it with Aquapainters and the ink pads to match the paper. Once it was dry I attached it over the spot it was cut from with Dimensionals.

See you next week!
Happy Stamping, Karla c(:

PS. Just so you know, the "Thinking of You" comes with the set, it says Happy Father's Day inside.

It's Friday once again and the new Idea Book & Catalog is release is right around the corner, so over at the Sisters in Stamping blog we are showing off some of our new things! Here is my card--

I used a new single stamp called Blended Bloom (#135906, $11.95) and a set from the 2013-14 IB&C called Lots of  Thanks (#129687, $22.95). My card is made with 4 of the new 2014-16 InColors, Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist and Lost Lagoon. It's a very CAS (Clean And Simple) card, it was part of my Stamp A Stack line up.

Contact me today if you would like a copy of the new IB&C for yourself.

Retirement 2014

We are showing a few of our Retiring Stamp Sets over at the Sisters in Stamping blog this week. Here is my card--

You may recognize it from this post, from about a year ago. This stamp set One in a Million is Retiring along with the Tastfully Trim BigShot die that made the waves. I'm really sad to see that die retire it is one of my favorites. You could make this card in any color combination and it would be just as nice.

Mother's Day Card

Well, we are into May now-- what happened to April?! May means Mother's Day is right around the corner, and the Sisters in Stamping are showing you cards today for Fabulous Friday, because everyone knows handmade cards are the only way to go! Here is my card for today--

Still working out of my retirement box, every year when SU! announces the retirement list I gather all of my stuff and put it all in one box and set it next to my desk. This time I used a stamp set called Springtime Hello out of my box, it's a small set that you may have missed in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I have been wanting to use it for awhile now and a Mother's Day card seemed like the perfect choice. Just so you know this lovely little set did not make the new 2014-15 IB&C. The lace ribbon, the background stamp En Francis and the folder that made the frame around the flowers are retiring too.

Happy Stamping! Karla c(:

PS. See you next week!

Talkin' Retirement List

Hey! Here's my card for today's post--

Everything I used on my card is on the retiring list (except the Early Espresso card stock). The stamp set Animal Talk is one of my favorites and fairly new to the Stampin' Up! catalog so, I was surprised to see it on the Retirement List....boo-hoo!

See you next week!

Easter Treats for Friday

Easter is right around the corner and the Sisters in Stamping are posting Easter treats for Fabulous Friday projects. Here is my project for this week--

I made a little carrot using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch (#133324, $22.95). After I punched it I ran it through the BigShot with the Fancy Fan embossing folder (#127751, $7.95).
I sure hope that this punch makes the new 2014-15 IB&C, I think it would make fabulous gift tags for Christmas presents.

I tucked a small Lindt milk chocolate bunny inside and stamped Happy Easter, tied it up with 3 pieces of 3/8" Stitched Satin Gumball Green Ribbon. Which reminds me that ribbon will be retiring soon along with stamps, Designer Series Paper and accessories-- the Annual Retirement Sale. Stampin' Up! has changed both categories, stamps and accessories to WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. The list will be posted this coming Monday April 21, send me a note and I'll make sure you get a copy hot off the presses.

Thank-you for dropping by--

Quatrefancy Friday

Well hey there! It's Friday once again and the Sisters in Stamping are using pretty paper. Here is my card for this week--

I used the stamp set Hello, Lovely (2013-14 IB&C, pg.22) and Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper pack (#130141, $12.95). I used a technique I have wanting to try for some time now called Starburst. I found this video by Dawn O. that gives fantastic instructions, it was easy and fun to put this card together.

Happy Stamping! See you next week-- Karla c(:

Spring Fever for Friday

I don't know about you but I'm really tired of snow. I picked Spring cards for the Fabulous Friday post this week on the Sisters in Stamping blog hoping that just the mere thought of flowers and butterflies would brighten my spirits. Here is my project--

The original idea came from a card that my good friend Jen Sannes sent to me a couple of months ago-- it was SO DANG CUTE I had to CASE it!! I used Sahara Sand and Wisteria Wonder. Speaking of Jen, she has started a new venture here is a link for you to go and check it out-- leave a comment for her so she knows you stopped by!

You will have to go over and check out what the other Sisters have made. Come back for next week for some projects made with Designer Series Paper.

Thank-you for coming by!

Easter Cards for the Sisters in Stamping

We still have snow on the ground here in South Dakota, but you can tell that Spring is right around the corner. Time to start getting those Easter cards made, which is exactly why the Sisters in Stamping are giving out ideas this week. Here is my card--

We made this card last night at my Stamp-A-Stack (last Friday of the month) and it was a big hit. I used the new Hardwood background stamp from the Spring Mini Catalog-- first time and I really like it! I hope it makes it into the New 2014-15 IB&C.

Pinterest Inspired Friday

Hello- and welcome to today's Fabulous Friday post from the Sisters in Stamping. It's Debbie's turn over at the Sister's blog and she picked a card or project that is inspired by something I've pinned over at Pinterest. Here is my inspiration pin--
love this color palette - shades of coral and mint
Isn't a beautiful cake? I just loved the softness of the colors and all of the ruffles as soon as I saw this Pin.  Here is my 8x8 scrapbook page that I created using this picture as inspiration--

We made this page at the last Mother Daughter Stamping Class. I used some of the paper that is part of Sale-A-Bration (purchase $50 of Merchandise, pick a free product as a thank-you). Which reminds me
SAB ends March 31, 2014.... contact me today if you'd like to place an order. I repeated the ruffle theme from the cake with the 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim in Crisp Cantaloupe (#130021, $8.95) along the side of the Whisper White piece of card stock.

The heart accent on the side was made using the arrow from the Thinlit Card Die set called
Label Cards (Item #133479, $32.95). I punched 2 holes in the heart (Full Heart, #119883, $16.95) cut the arrow in 1/2 and used some glue to stick it down on the back side. I think it turned out really cute and the girls really enjoyed making it.

Thank-you for stopping by and make sure you come back next week to see some awesome Easter cards.

Happy Heart Day!

Well, hey there and welcome! The Sisters are showin' off some Valentine card this week, here is my card--

I used the Sale-a-Bration stamp set called Banner Blast and the coordinating Banner punch to make this fun little Valentine. The little itty bitty heart is from the Owl Builder (#118074, $16.95), I used Red Glimmer paper (#121790, $4.95)-- it's exactly what this card needed, a little sparkle!

Hope you are having a great Valentine's Day! Happy Stamping, Karla c(:

Scrapbooking Friday

It's Friday once again and you know what that means... it's time for the Fabulous Friday post. The Sisters in Stamping are showing scrapbook pages this week, here is my page--

I had a special request for a camping page, this is the page we did at the last Mother Daughter/ Find a Friend Class. I used a photopolymer set called Greetings From ($13.95, #134621). Go see what the other Sisters are up to this week, and we will see you back here next Friday!

Taking a ColourQ

I bet you've been wondering where I've been...I have been under the weather again. But, I'm feeling better! This cute little card would brighten any ones day I think....what do you think?

Sale-A-Bration started last Tuesday and this set, Petal Parade is one of the free sets you can earn by purchasing $50 USD in Stampin' Up! merchandise. The saying comes from the 2013-14 IB&C, it's one of the new sets called Yippee-Skippee (pg.37). And last but not least, that bakers twine adds just the right amount of sparkle with the silver twist in it, it can be found in the 2014 Occasions Mini Catalog (pg.24). The Sisters in Stamping are participating in a ColourQ Challenge this week, hop on over to take a look at the other cards and projects.

Thank-you for coming by! Happy Stamping, Karla c(:

Bee Mine!

Well hey, welcome today to my blog! The Sisters in Stamping are making candy projects today. Here is my project for today--

I used the fun Designer Series Paper stack called Fresh Prints. I cut 2" off of the piece to make it 4 1/2x 4 1/2 inches squares. Once it was folded it was the perfect size for a wrapped candy!

The little bee came from the set called Crazy, Mixed-up Love. It's one of the new sets in the 2013-14 Idea Book & Catalog. I put some Dazzling Diamonds glitter in the bee's wings just to dress him up some.

Thank-you for coming by today! Happy Stamping, Karla c(:

PS. Go check out what the other Sisters have done.

Brrrr....it's Cold Outside!

Maybe you should "Bundle Up"? The Sisters in Stamping are using some of the new Bundles from the Occasions Mini Catalog this week. See what I did there?? I couldn't help myself! Here is my project for this week, and I'll try not make any more puntifications--

I used the Banner Bundle (the stamp set Perfect Pennants and the Banner Framelit Dies, pg.27) to make my card today. I threw some other Occasions Mini products into my card design too-- the Scallops Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (pg.32, #132971) and to make it sparkle, I pulled some of the sequins off of the new Gold Sequin Trim (pg.23, #132983).

Well, that's all I have for today. Thank-you for coming by!

Happy stamping! Karla c(:

Happy 2014

My new year was uneventful and that's just how I like it! How about you? I have been recovering from a stomach bug and haven't felt like doing much of anything. It was good to get back down in my stamping studio and unpack some of my goodies and play. Over at the Sisters in Stamping we are making cards and projects using our favorite stamp sets from the new Occasions Mini Catalog. It goes live today, here is a link to it if you'd like to peruse: 2014 Occasions Mini Catalog
Here is my card for today's post--

I used a set called So Very Grateful. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to order it....sometimes there is no fighting it! This card has a very country feel to it until you get to the glitter. The glitter just makes it sing!

Thank-you for coming by, go check out the other projects. See you next week. Karla c(:
