Scoring Borders this Week!

Hey there! The Sisters in Stamping are using a new tool from the Stampin' Up! Spring Mini Catalog called Simply Scored Borders Scoring Plate, it's on pg.26 up in the top left hand corner....you may have missed it! Here is my project for this week--

I used the zig zag part of the plate but I placed the tops of the zag together instead of nested, it has a argyle look to it....I was aiming to mimic the design in the Designer Series Paper. That Stack is in the Catalog too, on pg.16, it's called Print Poetry.

Here is a picture from another angle to see the scored lines better.

Happy Friday to you! Make sure you stop back by next week, the Sisters have some fun things planned.

Valentine Candy

It's February 1st and Valentine's Day will be here before you know it! The Sisters in Stamping blog is showing off some fun candy ideas this week. Here is my project--

I used the 1x8 cello bags, the Heart Framelits and the Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit. Super quick easy and super cute! I was inspired by Stampin' Up! founder Shelli Gardner, you can see her post here. The trick is to leave a space in the candy (I put 11 hearts in instead of 12) so you can tie the ribbon around the cello bag.

Thank-you (once again!) for coming by today and checking out what's going on. Next week it's my turn and we are going to be showcasing the new Simply Score Borders Plate in the 2013 Spring Mini Catalog.

Until then, happy Stamping! Karla c(:

Sneak Peek for Sale-A-Bration

Sale-A-Bration starts next week, Tuesday January 22, and the Sisters in Stamping blog are showcasing some of the stamp sets that Stampin' Up! is offering. Here is my card for this week--

I used the NEW oval Framelits from the Spring Mini catalog, Twitterpated Designer Series Paper and the Sale-A-Bration set called Feeling Sentimental. It has a nice masculine feel to it.
If you don't know about Sale-A-Bration e-mail me today!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Stamping!

The Sisters in Stamping blog is putting up some quick gift wrapping ideas for this weeks edition of Fabulous Friday. Here is my gift bag for this week--

I'm always on the hunt for new ways to wrap gifts for little or no money, one of the reasons why I like stamping so much. My husband says I'm waaaaay to practical. Here is a picture tutorial on how to make this cute little bag. I'm using some 2 sided 12x12 Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper called Be of Good Cheer.

Step One: Place the box (this is a box of cookie mix** see below for directions on finding a box of your own) on the paper, folding the paper up so that at least 2/3 of the base of the box is covered.

Step Two: Fold in each side, not too tightly, I use liquid glue to secure. Use the pads of your fingers to score all four sides/corners of the paper to the box.

Step Three: "Wrap" the end of the box like you would a gift.

Step Four: Slide the box out of the Designer Series Paper. If you have a hard time sliding the box out that means that the Step Two was done too tight.

Step Five: Pinch the sides in and fold top down, and decorate with a ribbon and tag.

**To find a box to wrap of your own cut a string the length of the longest side of your paper. My paper is square, so my string was 12" long. Take that string to your pantry or to the grocery store and wrap it around a box to see if it will work...it needs to overlap at least a 1/4". You only need one box and it helps if it is still full of food, it will wrap better if it's heavy. There you go-- I have that box of cookie mix in my craft room and I can "wrap" myself up a bag any time I need it in whatever theme I need it in.

Thank-you for stopping by!

Christmas Tree Ornaments for Sisters

Merry Christmas! I love to make ornaments (and buy ornaments) so that is why my pick for the Sisters in Stamping blog is Homemade Christmas Ornaments this week. Here is mine--

I've had this idea for awhile and even bought the die (Elegant Bird Bigz, #125593, $21.95) especially to try to make this ornament idea I had in my head. Here is another picture from a different angle.

It was on the difficult side to take pictures of my bird, I'm hoping that you can see how it's put together-- 'cause I don't think I could explain it! I used the First Edition Designer Series Paper and glued it to both side of a piece of thin card board. So excited about how pretty she turned out.

Thank-you for coming by, make sure you stop by the Sisters site to see the other lovely ornaments.

Happy Stamping!

Quick and Easy Gift Ideas

Welcome! The Sisters in Stamping blog is featuring Quick and Easy Gift Ideas for our Fabulous Friday post. Here is my idea--

It is a money holder, cause there is nothin' faster than money, I think! I used the 2 3/8" Scallop Punch (#118874, $16.95) to make my tree (Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi and Garden Green). The Real Red card stock is 6 3/4"x 9" scored at 3" and 6" and then I trimmed 1/4" off of one end so that it would not bind when I folded it. Here is a picture of the inside--

There is a small tab of Velcro to keep it closed. I made a couple to have on hand...in case of an Emergency!

Have a great week, and we will see you back next Friday....we will be showing off some handmade Ornaments for your Christmas Tree.

Happy Stamping, Karla c(:
