Easter Scrapbook Page for this Friday

It's Friday once again and over at the Sisters in Stamping blog we are showcasing scrapbook pages. Here is mine for this week--

We made this 8x8 page at the last Mother Daughter Class using the Blossom Petals Builder punch (#121808, pg.185 2012-13 IB&C). I found inspiration from one of my Downline, Katie Johnson she has other cards that she's made using this punch on her blog. Found out last Wednesday that this punch is on the list to be retired May 31, 2013.

Well, that's it for me today but the other Sisters have pages to show you so make sure you go by and take a look see.
See you next week! Happy Stamping, Karla c(:

Happy Fabulous Friday

The weeks are just flying by! This Fabulous Friday post topic for this week over at the Sisters in Stamping blog is ribbon. I made a votive cover using the Poetry Prints Designer Series paper stack--

It was super difficult to take pictures of the votive. Basically, it is white cardboard (the piece that backs the Designer Series Paper packs) covered with paper using Tombow Liquid Glue and then cut with the Lattice die. Here is a picture from overhead, it's easier to see the project.

I used narrow ribbon to tie the three panels together and then set my votive down into the center. It would be a fun gift to give to my Mom for Mother's Day!

Thanks for coming by today!

Pintrest for Friday

Are you on Pintrest?? I recently found Pintrest and I'm LOVIN' it! I've always found it incredibly frustrating when I'd see something cruising around on the Internet and not be able to find it again. My "bookmarked" list on my computer was HUGE in an attempt to keep track of all the cool things I would see. Well, no more of that since I started Pinning! There are so many inspiring things it was hard to pick one for this week's Sisters in Stamping Fabulous Friday post ! I finally narrowed it down to this card...here is my Pinspiration:

This card was made by Mary Hodgman, she doesn't appear to have a blog...I will update my post if I find out otherwise.

Here is the card I made--

I used the new Photopolymer stamp set called Designer Type, #132956, $13.95. When I ordered it I'll be honest with you I was a little skeptical, but I'm really enjoying this set. I'm already on the hunt for more sayings to put in this cute little word bubble!

Here is the inside of the card--

I lined the letters up on the clear block and then took out the K, that was the only letter that the front and the inside had in common.

You stamp the saying for the front and then go back and fill in the blanks. Quite clever of me, I thought.

That's it for me this week. You can find my Boards here, I have 34 Boards and 1,247 Pins. The biggest problem with Pintrest....it's so addicting! And it's a huge black hole, but that won't stop me I'll just keep Pinning away!

Happy Stamping!

Reinkers for Friday!

It is Debbie's turn this week for the Fabulous Friday post and she has picked projects done with Stampin' Reinkers. Also, we have a new look over at the Sisters in Stamping blog so you'll need to go take a look! Here is my card for this week--

I made up a new Technique! At least I think I did.... I did a twist on the Reinker Spread Technique, so I'm calling it Reverse Reinker Spread. I used the embossing folder called Flower Garden with Shimmery White cardstock. Before I sent it through the Bigshot I took the Versamark ink pad to one side of the folder. Once it was embossed I sprinkled the side that had the Versamark ink on it with white embossing powder and heated it with the heat gun. I used the Pretty in Pink and the Lucky Limeaide reinkers (both of these colors will be retiring soon) and my aquapainter to color in my flower --the raised portion of the embossed design, the flat part was covered with white embossing powder and did not pick up any ink. The technique is easy but trying to explain it, that is difficult to do!

Happy Stamping!

Easter Treats

The year is just flying by--here it is almost Easter!! But over at the Sisters in Stamping blog we have put together some Easter candy ideas. Here is my 3D item for this Fabulous Friday--

I filled my little milk carton with malted milk Easter eggs (get it?? malted milk in a milk carton!) I thought that was very clever. The Designer Series Paper is called Twitterpated and I made my carton with one of the InColors, Island Indigo.

I used some of the new Designer Builder brads (pg.12, Spring Mini Catalog) to add a little bling to the front of my carton.

Make sure you go over to the Sisters in Stamping to see what the others have come up with!

Thanks for stopping by, Karla c(:

Moving Cards from the Sisters in Stamping

It's my week over at the Sisters in Stamping blog and I picked Moving Cards for our assignment. Moving cards are always a favorite of mine and this one is the best! I have heard this card called a Secret Message Card, but I can't find any tutorials on it....so, I must have the name wrong. If you know the correct name of this moving card leave me a note, thanks! (Update 5/10/2013: Thank-you Prisha for the link to a tutorial...see the comments below.)

Here is the front of my card, the base is white 8 1/2x 5 1/2. Two panels make the front More Mustard 5 1/4 x 4 and So Saffron 5x 3 3/4, I ran that piece through the new Honeycomb Embossing Folder.

This is the inside of my card. I made two slits (side to side) 2" from the top and 2" with from the bottom using my new paper cutter. I wove 2 strips of So Saffron (2 pieces, 2 x 5 1/2) between the slits

Fold those two panels into the inside of the card....

...and, you will find the secret panels that you can write your message in. I stamped some bees and left my Secret Message on a punched circle.

Here is the Secret Panel Card completely opened. This card is best given in person so you can show the recipient how to retrieve their message!

Easter Cards for this Week!

It's Rachel's week over at the Sisters in Stamping blog and she has picked Easter Cards as our focus for this week's Fabulous Friday post. Here is my card--

I just love this set! It's called Everybunny and I was SO happy to see it in this year's Idea Book & Catalog (pg.25). I used Regal Rose, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight and Sahara Sand cardstock to punch my Scallop Squares ( IB&C pg.183, #119884, $16.95). Using the same color ink pads I watercolored my adorable little bunny with blender pens (IB&C pg.178, #102845, $9.95).

Make sure you stop by the Sisters blog to see what the others have for Easter!
