Halloween Spooky Hand

Well hey there! It's Debbie's turn to pick this weeks theme for the Sisters in Stamping blog her pick was Halloween Treats. Here is my project--

We did these candy hands at the last Mother Daughter Class (FAF), they were a big hit! I purchased the gloves at a big box store, they are vinyl (not latex) just in case any of my friends have allergies and I don't know of them. I filled the fingers with a roll of smarties and then the palm with tootsie rolls, gum and jaw breakers, all wrapped.

Here is a close up of the tag. I used the single Halloween stamp from the Holiday Mini called Halloween Treat. Had the girls stamp it 2 times and then paper piece the line of pumpkins and the 2 spiders.

As always we will be back next week with some more fun things to show you! Thanks!

Happy Stamping!

Pick-a-Card, any Card

The Sisters in Stamping are playing around this week with some of the card designs in the 2 current catalogs, the 2016-17 Idea Book & Catalog and the 2016 Holiday Mini. Here is my card for this week--

It's a copy of a card in the Idea Book & Catalog, it is on page 137. Here are the things I changed, the colors (Mint Macaron and Watermelon Wonder) and the orientation (from portrait to landscape).

I didn't use the Ruched Ribbon like the sample, instead I swapped it out with some silver Metallic Thread. And lastly, I added some stamped flowers on the Happy Birthday circle.

Thank-you for coming by, make sure you go over to the Sisters blog and see what the others have done.

Halloween Candy Friday

It feels odd thinking about Halloween so early doesn't it? But, the reason why the Sisters in Stamping are posting Halloween and Fall projects this week for Fabulous Friday is because the Stampin' Up!'s 2016 Holiday Mini Catalog will be debuting soon!!! Here is my Sneak Peek--

I pre-ordered a single stamp called Halloween Treat. I used a technique called Reverse Spotlighting. Fun, quick & easy!

Flowers!

A little late this week, computer problems! The Sisters in Stamping theme this week is Flowers! Here is my card--

This stamp, Vivid Vases is retiring. I stamped the image with Basic Black Archival ink on So Saffron card stock and used the White Gel Pen (#105021, $4.00, retiring supplies limited) to color the daisy and the daffodil. The other flower colors were done with markers.

We will be talking about more retired sets and accessories next week, see you then!

Punch Art Birthday Bee

Well, hello! The Sisters in Stamping are making projects with Punch Art this week. Here is my card--

I used the Petite Pairs stamp set and the Hexagon punch to make this Birthday card, it was just natural to make a little punch art Bee to go with this layout.

Last week-end I attended a crafting class at my church here in Yankton, this is what we made:
Is'nt it the cutest?? Laura K. taught the class and she cut all of the wood pieces out for us ahead of time. We could paint them and decorate them any way we wanted, it was too much fun-- thanks Laura!!! Anyway, all week I kept thinking about the Bee on my flower, and I used him as inspiration for today's card.
Here is a close up picture of my bee (I couldn't resist putting googly eyes on him like the ones on my card).

Thank-you for coming by today...see you next week for some special projects using the Clearance Rack.

Sale-A-Bration for March

Hello!! Sale-A-Bration is still on at Stampin' Up! until the end of March. They just released some more free items to choose from, contact me if you want more info. Here is my card for this week--

I cased the layout from the 2011-12 Idea Book & Catalog (pg.13). Every time I get a new Stampin' Up! catalog I try to go through it and find interesting layouts....sometimes it takes me awhile to get to them, but it always helps when I'm feeling "designed out." I used the Sale-A-Bration stamp set Flowering Fields.

I used the top part of the Heart punch to make the bumps on the sides.

I did have to trim a bit off of the ends to make them fit, but if you cut the So Saffron panel a little bit bigger you wouldn't need to do that.

Make sure you come back next week, the Sisters in Stamping are making Easter cards!

Happy Stamping, Karla c(:

Get Well Soon!

It's nice to have a few Get Well cards around, you just never know when you'll need one-- especially this time of year! Here is my project for today's Sisters in Stamping Get Well challenge--

I used the single stamp Get Well Soup (#138768, $13.00). I cut a small heart from Real Red Glimmer paper using the heart from the Baker's Box Thinlits set (#138279, $33.00), it's a perfect fit!

Inside the Sketched Dots Gift Bag (#138316, $4.00 for 10 bags) is a folded 1/2 sheet of Pacific Point card stock.

I tucked a package of Chicken Noodle Soup in.

See you next week! Happy Stamping, Karla c(:

Little Bits of Paper

Good day! This week at the Sisters in Stamping blog we are talking paper, little bits of paper to be exact. Here is my project for this week--

I made a little paper quilt with my leftover little bits of paper. This is one of my Frame Series that I've been making with my Wednesday night Class. I was roaming around Pinterest looking for ideas and saved this pin for a quilt block. I used the paper stack called Cherry on Top. Layered my block on Watermelon Wonder and Blushing Bride.

I'd say that one of the most asked questions I get from other stampers and crafters is, "how do you store all of those little bits of paper?"

I have a 2 drawer lateral file that I keep my 8 1/2 x 11 card stock in. The top drawer holds the Brights and the Subtles, bottom drawer holds Regals and Neutrals. Each of the colors has 2 hanging files, the first file has the name of the color on it along with an image that is stamped in the same ink. That file holds little bits of paper, you'll see on the picture on the right for the Real Red file I have a hanging file that has sides on it. Also, there is a white plastic bag tucked into that file-- these are little bits of card stock "on the go," I can pull out that bag if I need some to punch out for a class.

The 2nd file is marked with a file tab of card stock in it and holds full sheets of the same color (pictured on the left). Behind the 2 files there is a full unopened pack of that color (I go through a lot of Real Red, so I have 2 packs).

For the 12x12 Designer Series Paper and other specialty papers I have a fabric storage cube that I store them in. When I get the paper I cut one end open (gently), I keep the cardboard that comes in the pack and put post-it Tab that marks it. Just like above, the first file has the little bits in it.

And the 2nd file has full sheets in it.

This is how I have been storing my paper for years, and it works very good! If you have any questions leave a note.

Thank-you for coming by today. Happy Stamping, Karla c(:
