Thank-you for stopping by! And Thank-you for coming every week to see what we have!

I used the Jumbo Wheel from the new Holiday Mini called Jolly Jingles to make my own designer paper. My Stampin' Up! Downline Group had a Shoebox Trade using sets from the Holiday Mini and this was one of my cards.
Next week we have a "sweet" surprise for you! Make sure you come back!

This card was a trade from Karen Clark, a fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator--and one of my Downline. When I contacted Karen about using this card for today's post (because it is so beautiful!) she said it was a CASE, and she couldn't remember where it came from.....so, if this is your card leave a comment and I will give you credit for this awesome creation.
Hope you can make it back next week, Karla c(:
See I told you!! Love it, thanks Jen. There is a special technique to this card, directions are on her blog:

I have been wanting to try this technique for a looooonnnng time....it's called Bargello and it's super easy to do and not just for needle arts. I used the new Designer Series Paper from the Summer Mini called Travel Journal (pg.23, Summer Mini catalog) but you can use any paper that has stripes. A technique article in the last Stampin' Success (a monthly Magazine for Demonstrators) featured it, just one of the many perks of being a SU! Demonstrator. I cut the paper in 1/2" strips off of each side to make the wave and then matched up the stripe when I adhered it to the card stock. Looks kinda like a tie don't cha think??? This stamp set Very Thankful is the Ronald McDonald set for the 2009-10 IB&C and will be retiring at the end of the month. To see all of the sets that are leaving click on the Stampin' Up! button on the left and check under promotions.

PS. Here is the link for the Sisters so you see what the others came up with http://SistersinStamping.blogspot.com
It's called a Diagonal Double Fold Card. I used one of the sheets of Designer Series Paper that comes in the kit to make the pockets. I have a good friend, who teaches and she likes to read lots of books during her Summer vacation. I think I'll tuck a gift card for a bookstore into one of the pockets before I give it to her. Here is what it looks like inside...I used some of the elements to dress it up.
I took a picture of it with the bookmarks pulled out so you could get a good look at it--
SU! Supplies used--
Accessories: Pumpkin Pie 1/4" ribbon, silver brads, mat pack, dimensionals, mini glue dots, Petal Party Simply Scrappin' Kit. Paper: Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White.
See you next week....have a safe Memorial Day week-end!
Happy Stampin' Karla c(:
PS. Make sure you go over to the Sisters blog to check it out.
It was super easy! I stitched long running stitch along the edge of 14" of ribbon and then gathered it up to make a circle. Put the brad in the center and filled the hole with a medium sized blob of hot glue. I cut the felt circle with the BigShot and attached the pin back with hot glue. That's it! I'll be putting it in a clear envelope (so you can see how pretty it is) and giving it to a good friend of mine.
SU! Supplies used--

You'll want to use a Sharpie Marker on it so that you cut it up in the right places. The original idea came from the uber talented Andrea Walford (http://andreawalford.com/).
